When I heard that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki would be making movies for the big screen, I was a very happy fangirl indeed. Recently I’ve been reduced to watching them in TV-sized episodes of “Smallville,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Dark Angel,” and the occasional viewing of “Fly Away Home,” a 1996 movie about Canadian geese that I mistakenly thought Padalecki would be in. (The movie he was in was “Flight of the Phoenix,” which I have not yet seen.) And while I’m happy to anticipate seeing them in all their 30-foot-high glory, I was a tad taken aback at their choice of subject matter, since both lads are staring in remakes of slasher films. Not thriller/dramas, not even horror films, but slasher films. While the remakes are of originals of some repute (high, ill, and otherwise), I have to admit that my first reaction was “say WHAT?”
