When I saw that this was the “real woman challenge” in the previews last week, I thought FOR SURE some designer was going to make one of these women cry.
I was pleased, for once, that none of the real woman models cried in the workroom or on the runway. Part of that might’ve been due to a distinct lack of Nina Garcia on the judging panel. Obviously, I’ve really soured on her as a judge and would very much like to see someone replace her.
Also, the incident with the iron was ridiculous. I suppose that’s what happens when an immovable bitch meets an unstoppable bitch: irons get thrown and production staff gets abused.
That said, Project Runway casting dropped the ball this season by putting not one, but two unstable people in the competition. There’s a difference between a camera-driven diva and a someone with a pathological anger problem.
I’m certain that any designer who got Jamie as their superfan model was going to win. She already had a model’s body and the mere acts of removing her glasses and chopping off her hair made her look like a different person.
Sooooo, someone at Project Runway HQ wants Helen to go far.
Jamie looks great and Helen deserved the win, BUT it really was a give away.
I admit it: i thought that Ken would make his model cry. He surprised me by how well he worked with her (even though the dress is ugly and doesn’t fit well). Alexander’s look was far worse; however, Ken really needed to leave. You don’t get into a tiff with Heidi on the runway one week then get abusive with production staff the next and still get to go to fashion week.
Like the dress and jacket. Hate the shoes.
Cute. Love the hair and beaded epaulets on the vest.
Love the jacket. That skirt is a wreck.
I love this whole outfit. I’m surprised it wasn’t in the top looks.
I’m totally sewing my signature on the front of my next dress project.
