Pushing Daisies: Kerplunk

By Sonia Aurora – I had a hard time writing this article. I pretty much avoided it. And I actually did miss the episode, at first. I was away and my DVR didn’t cooperate, then my computer wouldn’t launch ABC.com’s player so I felt like the universe didn’t want me to watch the very last Pushing Daisies episode that would ever be made. Plus I knew I would feel sad, disappointed, upset, angry, whimsical, and who wants to invite those feelings in? (except whimsical, I love that one).

Pushing Daisies: Window Dressed to Kill

By Sonia Aurora – I love my DVR. Imagine my surprise/shock/delight to come home this weekend, check my recordings and see “New: Pushing Daisies” in the queue. Honestly, I stared at it mouth agape for a full minute trying to process if it was a joke. I took a day to cautiously proceed to it. I had mourned this show, after all, processing all the stages of grief until I came to the conclusion it was gone. And now, here, before me, the ghost of a beloved, claiming to still be alive.

Pushing Daisies: The Norwegians

By Sonia Aurora

This week: Orlando Jones!

I’m trying to muster up the love here, but to be quite honest this was not one of the season’s strongest eps and knowing it’s also one of its last just made it harder to bear.

Pushing Daisies: The Legend of Merle McQuoddy

By Sonia Aurora

When reading the description of the episode this week, I couldn’t help but think of a more sensational Nancy Drew like title like “The Tale of the Lighthouse Keeper”, but as it progressed I wanted to call it “The Case of the Bratty Lonely Tourist” and by the end “The Jerky Reanimated Dad.”

Pushing Daisies: Comfort Food

Another episode, and this one made me hungry not only for Pie but for Chicken as well (although as I continue, you might find that a little sick).

Pushing Daisies: Robbing Hood

By Sonia Aurora

I came back from a lovely Thanksgiving holiday to back to back episodes of Pushing Daisies on my DVR. I considered writing my articles reviewing both eps in one, but felt that since ABC canceled the show, I didn’’t want to shortchange the Pink Raygun audience of every morsel of the Pie Hole and its players have to offer. And while a huge part of me wants to complain (yet again) about the great disservice ABC is doing against this show, I decided instead to revel in the beauty of what the show is and offers without sullying it with anger. I want to enjoy every last bite while I can (and I hope you do too).

Pushing Daisies: Oh Oh Oh…It’s Magic

By Sonia Aurora

Oh yes, its magic, you know, but if only that magic could extend past the screen and into the hearts of the ABC execs who loom over Pushing Daisies with weed killer and shears in their hands.

Pushing Daisies: Dim Sum Lose Sum

By Sonia Aurora

I’ve been down. As Pushing Daisies has been on a 2 week hiatus, so have I been (self-imposed). It’s a sad, sad fact that there is a swirl of rumors of the show’s imminent demise (along with jokes about Ned attempting to bring the show back to life). There is that part of me that then hates having gotten into the show at all; its’ like involving yourself in a Romeo-esque romance knowing it can only end badly, but you do it anyway. I’m dating someone long distance halfway across the country; of course I will get into a quirky fun fun-loving vibrant show that will probably not make it to May 2009.

Pushing Daisies: Bad Habits

By Sonia Aurora

I was immediately sucked into this week’s episode as we get a glimpse into Olive’s tenacity. Our Olive, at 9 years, 20 weeks, 4 days, 11 hours and 33 minutes old became determined to own an Arabian Stallion after her first horse riding lesson. Her parents rebuffed her, so she started to dig to Arabia….unearthing a triceratops that essentially got her the horse–straight from a Saudi royal.

Pushing Daisies – Circus, Circus

By Sonia Aurora

As much as I love my DVR it likes to be quirky, and not in a good way. Actually, if it were a female, I might use the “B” word for my DVR, who may be offended I’ve never named it anything but “DVR”.

Pushing Daisies: Bzzzzz!

By Sonia Aurora

The facts were these…

I missed this show immensely, and not even realizing how much so until the second season premiered. The delicious dialogue, the delectable colors, it’s just. . . it’s so hard to explain how much fun this show is, whimsical and sweet without being overly so. Really, there is nothing else out there like it, and I’d forgotten how lost I could get for that hour every week. Thank you, new network season, thank you!

Pushing Daisies: Can Ned and Chuck have a child? Spoilers!

By Juliana Weiss To many fans, waiting until the fall for new episodes of Pushing Daisies after a strike-shortened nine-episode first season seems like cruel and unusual punishment. Pushing Daisies: Bitter Sweets

By Sonia Aurora OhmeGod OhmeGod OhmeGod. Ok, it would be a GREAT disservice to this episode for me to go from the ending scene and then recap. Pushing Daisies: The Smell of Success

By Sonia Aurora And after I’ve finally finished digesting all my Thanksgiving dinner, and gotten my computer up and running again, I submit to you a very belated synopsis of Pushing Daisies’ “Smell of Success.” (Really, who breaks a cell phone AND a modem over a holiday? Me, that’s who). Related Stuff:
