All this coverage and hoopla -- it's like events and moments created to give this thing more significance that it really has. The mere notion of a royal wedding seems absurd at this point in our history because the royal is rather meaningless. I mean when you get down to the basics of it -- this is essentially a wedding of ridiculously wealthy person to a not terribly poor woman, who because of his position in the country and his riches is able to marshal a massive police force and employ a large amount of his "subjects" to cater this shindig. That's it. Is it great that they're getting married? Sure, it's always nice when people find true love. Like I said, I hope they're happy. I just don't need a play by play of their happiness

I’ve been a strong advocate for Catwoman in the Christopher Nolan Batman series since The Dark Knight came out. The second the credits rolled I thought, if he can deliver such a dynamite Joker than think of what he can do with the world’s sexiest crazy cat lady. Besides, after the Halle Berry debacle that shall-not be named, this character was just as in need of redemption as any Gotham City resident that Joel Schumacher slapped nipples on for no reason.

by Teresa Jusino - I say “again,” because it seems like all geeks do is argue for the legitimacy of the art forms they love. Comic books, and sci-fi and fantasy anything are mostly considered lowbrow pop culture save a few begrudging exceptions. I bring this up, because I just read an article on the Mother Jones website that tries to make the case that current box office numbers are suffering, because people over 30 are going to the movies in dwindling numbers, and that this problem is caused because Hollywood films have gotten too juvenile.

By Teresa Jusino - Think about it. A talented black actor can only find inspiring, fun, challenging superhero roles outside his race, and has to force the Hollywood studio system to retcon years of film history as well as years of comic history, because his options for playing an iconic superhero of his own race are THAT limited. HOW MESSED UP IS THAT?!
