I know very little about superhero comics. Very little. I only read a few comics myself, like Buffy Season Eight, The Boys, Angel: After the Fall, and various indie comics penned by indie minds like Daniel Clowes and Adrian Tomine. When it comes to superhero comics, the best I can offer is knowledge on the Dazzler, an aspiring singer with the power of ‘super light show’. Also, she works at a roller-skate disco. Recently I had the pleasure of attending the Star Trek books panel at New York Comic Con. I was fascinated as the editor and a few authors described what was to come in Star Trek fiction. In middle school I read close to a hundred of these paperback novels. Maybe I should check these books out again, I thought during the panel, and snapped up a free preview of the upcoming novels. I opened it to the first page of Star Trek: Enterprise: Kobayashi Maru, by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels. I immediately remembered why I don’t read Star Trek novels. read more »

The Disney Vault is an odd type of imaginary place. It periodically vomits up such Disney classics as Cinderella III, Kronk’s New Groove, and Leroy & Stitch (which sounds like the Chinese factory made knock off of Lilo & Stitch that you’d buy on a street corner). Yet, it slams its imaginary iron door on a Roald Dahl book for sixty years. read more »

Let’s hear it for Samuel T. Anders, the ONLY hot Cylon guy. I don’t know who designed the skin jobs (perhaps that will be revealed as well), but that person clearly had an eye for the ladies. I look forward to the episode where we see Anders stepping naked out of a tub of goo. read more »
