Stargate Atlantis: Trio

by Wolfen Moondaughter And once again, Martin Gero hits it out of the ballpark! Yes, almost the entire episode took place in one room, with only three people, and you know what? Gero proved he could keep me completely enthralled nonetheless. I was grinning so much my face was hurting by the end! Related Stuff:

Stargate Atlantis: Outcast

by Wolfen Moondaughter I’m of mixed feelings on this one. It had some really great moments in it, but: A) as a friend pointed out over at Mallozzi’s blog, we didn’t really learn much that was earth-shattering about Sheppard, which makes the story a bit of a waste in that department. B) some of the [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Harmony

by Wolfen Moondaughter Now that was fun, and too, too cute — another gem from Martin Gero! (One that proves that adding a child to the mix can enhance a story rather than kill it. I tend to greatly enjoy talking animal stories myself, another supposed storytelling no-no; maybe they’ll venture into that territory someday? [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Quarantine

by Wolfen Moondaughter I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love the episodes where they stay in the city the whole time, and this one is no exception! While the story wasn’t without tension, I appreciated the quiet character interaction. (Okay, so maybe I didn’t like it quite as well as “Doppelganger” [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Spoils of War

by Wolfen Moondaughter Before I begin, I’d just like apologize for my lateness with the column last week, and to thanks the readers who have been so vocal and supportive about that review (of “Be All My Sins Remember’d”). It’s nice to know people actually like reading my ramblings — especially when the last one [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Be All My Sins Remember’d

By Wolfen Moondaughter Happy New Year, everyone! And boy, did Stargate Atlantis start the year off with a bang! I guess if you want a blockbuster episode, you should just dial up Martin Gero, ‘ey? (On a side-note, I am annoyed that, as of this writing, the online game has not been updated with a [...]

Stargate Atlantis: This Mortal Coil

By Wolfen Moondaughter I will confess up front that I had indulged in skimming the spoilers at Gateworld for this ep, so I had an idea of what was going on as I watched, beyond even the theories I’d postulated in the previous edition of this column. Yet, even with those spoilers and theories in [...]

Stargate Atlanits: Miller’s Crossing

By Wolfen Moodaughter Martin Gero is my hero. Back in August, I had said to Stargate producer Joe Mallozzi, on his blog: “Speaking of which, I second the wish someone had yesterday for some good McShep — er, McKay/Sheppard friendship moments, of the not-nearly-so-snarky, plenty-angsty variety.” I hadn’t meant it as a question, nor had [...]

Stargate Atlantis: The Seer (Part 2)

By Wolfen Moondaughter Last week, I started reviewing “The Seer”, but as my commentary was running even longer than usual, and there wasn’t a new episode to review for this week anyway, I decided to save the rest of that review for this week! … Related Stuff:

Stargate Atlantis: The Seer (Part 1)

By Wolfen Moondaughter I rather enjoyed this episode — not as much as “Adrift”, “Reunion”, “Doppelganger”, or “Tabula Rasa”, but on par with “Lifeline”, and more than “Travelers” or “Missing”. Interesting that they would have another episode written by the same author — Alan McCullough, who wrote “Tabula Rasa” — so close together with his [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Missing

By Wolfen Moondaughter Like with “Travelers”, I went into “Missing” expecting disappointment — even more so, this time, because not only was it not a team-centric episode, but because Teyla is, to be honest, my least-fave character after Weir. I don’t hate her, and I’ve even grown somewhat fond of her as I’ve gotten into [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Tabula Rasa

By Wolfen Moondaughter I had a disaster of Atlantis proportions in regard to this episode: the power went out while I was on vacation, so the VCR didn’t record it! Thankfully, I was able to buy the episode from Amazon Unbox, but the player doesn’t work so well when it comes to rewinding and fast-forwarding [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Travelers

By Wolfen Moondaughter Sorry for the delay in the review of this episode (and “Tabula Rasa”), everyone, but there was no way I could have gotten the column done before my plane left on the 27th, and I was *gasp* without a computer for a whole week! (Yes, it was torture! And just imagine how [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Doppelganger

By Wolfen Moondaughter You may remember my mentioning the whole Zelekna-LSD issue in the last column: specifically, that he was using one and shouldn’t have been able to. I’ve seen the question asked elsewhere as well — and apparently answered in Joe Mallozzi’s own blog. (Darn it, I missed this when I was skimming it [...]

Stargate Atlantis: Reunion

By Wolfen Moondaughter Something occurred to me about “Lifeline” after I turned the column in last week. Do you remember how Ronon was hovering over McKay, asking questions, and eventually eliciting the “Get out of there!” from Rodney because he was picking through something in the back of the ‘jumper? I wonder if that was [...]

Hailing Atlantis By Wolfen Moondaughter Hello, everyone, and welcome to the first edition of my new column, “Hailing Atlantis”! Some of you may know me from the “Buffy Bites”, “Angelwatching”, and “Me Jane” review columns I did at Sequential Tart a few years back: obviously, reviewing/analysing TV shows isn’t exactly a new thing for me.
