About Rosalind

Rosalind is a wife, a microbiologist, a Jersey girl, and a trekkie. Rosalind's geekiness starts with her long-standing crush on Wil Wheaton (since she was 12!). She loves reading and watching science fiction like Issac Asimov, X-files, Many Star Treks, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, the Vampire Chronicles, and Supernatural. She also has a love of puzzles, charts, Venn diagrams, science!, and unusual math. She can typically be found obsessing over these things at girlsaregeeks.wordpress.com which she runs along with her two geeky sisters.

Human Target: A Problem Like Maria/Communication Breakdown

By Rosalind

Human Target is a study in opposites, or it’s yoga, because it pulls in two directions all the time. The overall storylines about the characters move very slowly, while the action of each episode is fast and heart-pounding. They work for the greater good (the greater good), but to accomplish that goal they need to consistently break the rules and laws. The characters want to hate each other, but in reality, each one of them is needed to create a good working team. I think it’s the dichotomies that keep me interested in the show, and this episode played right to those almost perfectly.

Human Target: Dead Head

Just after evading the cops by crawling into the elevator, from the ceiling!

By Rosalind – I think Human Target is really starting to find its groove. This was a fun, well put together episode with just the right amount of everyone. Well, I would have enjoyed more Guerrero, but I always want more of my man G! Generally, if they keep up like this, I’m going to have a happy Human Target new year.

Human Target: Ames and Baptiste

By Rosalind – So, due to being out of town 6 out of 8 days last week, I am reviewing two episodes in one. First of all: Taking Ames. So far, I haven’t really liked Ames. After a whole episode based around her: I still don’t like her. Maybe it’s my issue with whiney leading ladies. I never liked Buffy or Alias either. With Buffy, it was definitely Sarah-Michelle Geller too, because I always liked it when it was the Xander and Anya show. Anyway, back on topic: Ames. It could also be her terribly annoying and not particularly well-done Staten Island accent that I don’t like. Still, I watched essentially two episodes in a row, one all about Ames and one without her entirely, and the second one was significantly better.

Human Target: The Wife’s Tale

By Rosalind – If there’s one thing Human Target is not going to be lacking this season, it is definitely action. This episode had more than enough running, shooting, and exploding for a good deal of fun along with the intricate and complex storylines that make the show worth coming back to. Now, if they could just figure out how to effectively use their new women, it would be nearly perfect.

Human Target: Ilsa Pucci

By Rosalind – It’s almost a fond memory now, back in September, I offered to review Human Target. It was about a week away from premiering, which I figured was plenty of time to get used to the idea of writing a show review, which is a new direction for me. So, what happened there? Fox cancelled something. Shocking, I know. After Lone Star was cancelled, things were shifted and Human Target was moved to Wednesdays and given a start date in the middle of November. The week before Thanksgiving actually. Who does that? Oh, right, Fox.
