About GrittyRe-boot

Thera Pitts is a mild mannered reporter by day, katana wielding zombie hunter by night. When she’s not blogging about movies she can be found keeping the mean streets of Rancho Cucamonga safe from flesh eating prowlers, rescuing orphans from burning buildings, or seeing what’s on the TV. Read her words and prepare to be blown away, or at least mildly diverted in some way.

Six of the Weirdest Sex Symbols in Movie History

It’s no secret that geeks have their fetishes. How many guys do you know that would give their comic book, video game and DVD collections combined to have one magical evening with Sailor moon, 2D and all? But us girls aren’t immune to the call of unconventional objects of affection. Not only do girls have their share of out there crushes, we get even weirder with it than our cartoon lusting male counterparts. And no I’m not talking about Spock, even your mom wanted to do Spock … sorry for that image.

The Brits Are Taking Over

I’m being a total hypocrite suddenly giving half a damn about the Superman movie after months of total disinterest, yet a Brit portraying one of our most enduring American icons really doesn’t sit well with me.

Let the Cattiness Begin

By Thera Pitts

I’ve been a strong advocate for Catwoman in the Christopher Nolan Batman series since The Dark Knight came out. Five Fanboy (or girl) Behaviors that Should Earn You a Beatdown

By Thera Pitts – Fanboys, how I hate them so. I know what you’re thinking, I’m writing for a genre website, don’t I sort of fit into that category? First of all, no. Second of all, shut up. Fanboys are to geeks what fundies are to Christians: bigoted extremists who can’t be silenced. They turn conventions, message boards and comic shops everywhere into dark, insidious wastelands of douchebaggery. Here are the five behaviors that separate the normal, upstanding geeks of the world with the sweaty, basement dwelling fanboys that make us all look bad.

By Thera Pitts – Like the humble citizens of a fictional metropolis (for example, Metropolis) fanboys and girls the world over are surrounded by superheroes, in books, in the movies and more frequently than eve, on the small screen. With Smallville coming to a close, No Ordinary Family doing well in the ratings and countless other hero dramas rumored to be in the works at various networks, standing out is key. Dexter Episode 5.13: The Big One

dexter-season-5-finale1

By Thera Pitts – Tick tick tick, that’s the sound of my patience running out. For my inaugural piece with Pink Raygun I’ve chosen to begin at the end. The somewhat middling fifth season of Dexter came to a close last Sunday, leaving fans everywhere prepped for the long wait before more adventures in serial killing, which at this point can best be described as waiting for more of the same.
