Smallville: Abandoned

By Aden Penn – This is an episode that fans may have been waiting for, because really you can’t get more super meta that Terri Hatcher playing Lois Lane’s mother.

Smallville: Ambush

smallville-ambush

By Aden Penn – We spend the first few minutes of this episode watching Clark and Lois make doe eyes over each other in the kitchen. They are all glowy from their special night, and acting rather nauseating. It gets worse when Lois tells him she is not hungry for food, and convinces him they need to go outside on the porch swing. Ha! I knew it. Lois is a total freak between the sheets. If she had her way they would be doing it all over the Kent farm.

Smallville: Harvest

By Aden Penn – “It’s like dating God or Bono” might be the best line I have heard describing what it would be like to date an alien super hero. Well done!

Smallville: Isis

smallville-isis

By Aden Penn – Seeing the preview for “Isis” worried me a little bit, because I was worried this was going to be a cheesy and over the top episode. It had it’s eye rolling moments, but to be honest there was a lot in there that was kind of important, and really enjoyable.

Smallville: Homecoming

By Aden Penn – Unless something changes I am putting “Homecoming” down as my favorite Smallville episode this season, and it starts right from the opener. We see three magazine covers, featuring Kara, Oliver and then a big red S with “Hero?” underneath it. Clark has brought his usual cloud of doubt with him to the game, but ever the optimist Lois is beaming with her hero worship. Which in this episode made me a little teary, I am really a Lois fan girl now. She tries to convince Clark that what he needs to do is hit up the Smallville High school reunion.

Smallville: Supergirl

By Aden Penn – Remember that dark cloud from before with the glowy eyes? Well he’s back, and he has a target. I am pretty happy about that target, because I was hoping they would give this Godfrey jerk a face and not just make him a voice on the radio. I am really enjoying how they are throwing in things like catch phrases (truth, justice and the American way), and how they mentioned Superman last week. It’s these clever little touches that make it an enjoyable show.

Smallville: Shield

smallville-10-2-carter

By Aden Penn- Some of you might have thought it was cheesy and cliché, but I thought when Carter dropped the Nietzsche it was the best way to get the word Superman to come out of someone’s mouth. And it is very fitting for the theme of this last season. (personal destiny, fate, choice and all the baggage that comes with it)

Smallville: Lazarus

smallville-chloe-nabu

By Aden Penn – Now before we launch into this shindig, I want to make something a little crystal. I have a love/hate relationship with Smallville. It appeals to my love of super heroes like you would not believe, but there have been many times when I have thrown my hands up and said, “That’s it, I’m out.” I have been happy with a lot of things and other things have made me roll my eyes, but isn’t that just the way with television?
