Like the Fall 2014 Menswear collections, the women’s ready-to-wear shows for the season made no sense whatsoever. Usually, I can tangle out some common themes across collections, whether it’s end-of-the-world anxiety or relieved hopefulness. Not this season. Everyone is all over the place.
So, like I did with menswear, I’m going to toss up some photos and shout my impressions in all caps. Because that was fun for me, last time.
I AM A SAD ROBOT.
I LOVE THIS DRESS, BUT THE STYLING IS TERRIBLE. WASH YOUR MODELS’ HAIR, BRANDON SUN.
LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING LADY GAGA PUKED UP.
I’M A HAPPY WORKER DRONE.
I CONTROL ALL THE WORKER DRONES.
FALLING SKIES EXTRA.
THE BLONDS DO THIS SAME THING EVERY SEASON. IT WAS FUN FOR A WHILE, BUT NOW I”M GETTING BORED.
I DIG THE 8-BIT EFFECT WITH THE SILVER.
Thom Browne, as usual, went straight up avant-garde with his collection and presented a stylized fantasy world populated with prim and exaggerated Victorian women. I always know I’m going to love his work.
Everything in Threeasfour’s collection is gorgeous and totally appropriate for the shiny future-world in which I want to live.
