Look at Regina! All expressing emotion appropriately and stuff! It’s like she’s been seeing my psychoanalyst.
Sometimes, though, you don’t need professional help to see that you’re turning into your mother and that it’s a nightmare from hell.
I had a moment a couple months ago where, when walking by a mirror, I seriously thought I saw my mom’s ghost. But, it was just me being old and having that expression on my face. That prompted me to get a haircut, be more regular about moisturizer, and be more conscious of what I’m doing with my mouth because that was scary $h!t.
Regina’s mirror was Henry, saying word for word the same things she’d said to her own mother even after being tempted with magic. Henry, bless his heart, is a much better person than me. Given the opportunity to learn magic for world domination, I would have jumped on that.
So, Regina’s made that leap into recognizing all the ways she’s failing Henry and was able to take a step in letting him go. But, I’m sure her typical self will come roaring back several times and in fantastic, explody fashion before she’s able to make more permanent changes in herself. That’s just the nature of settling into a new personality habit.
Meanwhile, Charming tries to keep Storybrooke together after it was decimated by last week’s Dementor while the townsfolk reel in their new identities and discover they’re trapped. Now when they try to leave Storybrooke, they won’t just crash their cars – they’ll revert back to their Cursed Identities. In a very real way, they have to choose who they want to be and live with everything that comes with it.
AND STILL MEANWHILE!!!! Snow and Emma get dragged to Fairytale Land’s refugee camp, attempt escape, and still get thrown in The Pit. Which is more of a cave than a pit, but whatever. They’re in there and so is Regina’s mom. I smell a mother-daughter magic bitch showdown this season!
Lastly, I’m happy to see that Mulan and Sleeping Beauty were able to set aside their conflicting love for the same prince and work together to imprison Snow and Emma.

I’m anxious to find out where Emma and Mary ended up; I suspect Wonderland. Some people online think that Cora is actually the Queen of Hearts, and she transported through the Mad Hatter’s hat to the Enchanted Forrest, but I think she is responsible for bringing all of the characters together from their different worlds. My DISH coworker loves the show too and we have been speculating about Mr. Gold’s confusion as well. Honestly, I wouldn’t have even thought about watching if I hadn’t seen it on my PrimeTime Anytime recordings yesterday. It’s a pity I didn’t see the premiere but the shows delete themselves after 8 days.
