Vintage Prints From A Time That Never Was

In college, I thought those vintage repro advertising posters you see at World Market were  the height of class. They were weathered and muted. They were often in French or Italian. I was drinking espresso and reading Camus and probably judging you, not even realizing I was the bigger tool for acting like that while wearing Gap chinos.

These days, I have a hard time looking at those posters due to the memory of what a pretentious douchebag I was back then.

Fabio Perez at Twentyone Creative has caught that vintage ad feel – minus the prevention – and applied it to products and services that don’t exist, for a selection of prints that speak to nostalgia for a time and place there never was.

Perez has a full selection up at his Etsy shop – these are some of my favorites:

Lisa Fary's earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She's angry that it's 2011 and she still doesn't have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.
