As if Mystic Falls didn’t have enough problems, it seems they now have a counsel killing serial killer running loose. Twenty bucks says that it has something to do with poor “Oh my God, they killed” Alaric.
Alaric is in jail, recovered from Dr. Fell’s gunshot and being accused of being the killer. They eventually let him go because he has an alibi. But then they find out that that magical ring that brings him back from the dead has some nasty side effects. All work and no play makes Alaric a dull boy and homicidal. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how that story line plays out.
What I don’t care about is the fact that we have to rehash Stefan’s human blood drinking issues, Elena’s judgmental-ness, and Matt and Elena running around like Fred and Velma. Lame.
Is it just me or is Bonnie always conveniently absent after something big happens with her? She’s mentioned, briefly, but it’s pretty obvious that she’s a sort of deus ex machina for this show. We also end up with another friendly vampire that will most likely end up with a magical “walk in the light” ring because of Bonnie’s mom.
Mystic Falls has previously had a counsel killing serial killer. This means that the present Mystic Falls doesn’t do anything original. Everything is a repeat of everything else. Including the brothers Salvatore. Le sigh.
I wonder if they all see the pattern or if I’m just trying too hard to make this show as interesting as I used to find it.
For the record, the Salvatore brothers have horrible hair in the past.
The cliffhanger is about how, simultaneously, Elena and Matt, and Damon and Stefan, realize that Alaric’s ring is filled with the essence of the naughty counsel killing serial killer. The more he died (a freaking LOT) the more then ring takes over. I wonder if Damon will feel bad about all the times he killed his best friend because he was being a brat. Probably not.
My dislike of this episode doesn’t dampen my interest in next week’s episode. Crazy Alaric seems like a whole lot of viewing fun.
