The Vampire Diaries: Disturbing Behavior

This show has a habit of torturing people. So far this year it’s been Caroline, Stefan, and me. It’s to the point where I have no emotional investment in any of these people. At one point my husband stated that I had wished death on ever character before the show was half finish because I was so annoyed with all of them.

Stefan’s still the bad vampire, but filled with angst and still annoying. I was hoping that when Klaus un-compelled him he’s stop being so whiney and just stick with being the Ripper. No such luck.

I also hoped he’d remember how much he’d liked Rebekah and decide that loving her was so much better than loving Elena and together those two and Klaus would kill their way across the country. Yeah…no. That didn’t happen either. Apparently Stefan kisses in a way that proves he’s a useless wet rag in love with a barely legal child.

At least Damon has gone back to his bad ways. He kills Alaric (wearing the magically ring of temporary death) out of frustration and then beats Caroline’s father just because he can. Thank God because his good boy game was pretty dull. Plus it made Elena moon over him because she has a thing for the broken yet redeemable Salvatore brothers.

This week the bad guys are still after Elena’s (once Rebekah’s) magical necklace. The good guys are cooking chili and trying get Elena to think straight. Right…because that’s happened at all in the past two year.

When your vampire and witch friends point out the folly of being into Damon, you know it’s an issue. He’s pretty to look at, but he just likes to kill people. You know, like Stefan who’s eating boutique girls while talking about the weather. Damon just has the tact not to pout about it like Stefan does.

Jeremy is having conversations with the ghost of his dead vampire girlfriend Anna. (And that is the strangest sentence I’ve written today which is saying a lot since I just posted about how my dog smells like corn chips.) She can pop over to the living side but only if they both want it at the same time. By the end, he’s pushing her away to be with his flesh and blood, still living witch of a girlfriend. Still not sure where this story line is going yet, but at least Jeremy informed Bonnie that he sees dead people and he doesn’t mean Bruce Willis.

Katherine is back. Not only does she save Stefan from his torture, but she also steals Elena’s necklace and then goes to Damon so they can team up again Klaus. That was probably the most interesting thing to come out of this episode and it wasn’t interesting since it’s just leading up to future episodes. But hey, as long as Damon doesn’t play nice and those two cause some havoc, I’ll be happy.

As for the cliffhanger, Klaus brings Stefan back to Mystic Falls. Yeah, like that wasn’t going to happen eventually. Gee, I wonder if this will end with everyone trying to kill or save Elena, again. Haven’t we watched that episode already?
