Creating this template feels inadequate, lame, like I’m trying to cash in on Steve Jobs’ death for page hits. But since we started doing these free pumpkin carving stencils, we’ve tried to do real-life people we admire along with the pop culture characters we enjoy.
Steve Jobs has been both to me.
If it weren’t for Jobs and Apple, I wouldn’t have been able to make a living doing what I love for the past 20 years, and any sort of living going forward would be almost unimaginable. I’ve spent more waking than sleeping hours writing, drawing, listening to music, communicating with friends, etc. on Apple devices than on anything else. Steve Jobs’ vision and passion provided me with more opportunities to excel, and for that I’ll be eternally grateful.

Jobs should have an alternative pumpkin stencil fashioned in the likeness of Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo, which would adequately represent good ol’ Steve’s union busting, teacher hating, and outsourcing scumbag side. Or maybe a scab stencil would do.
Carving this pumpkin would be a great tribute to an amazing man who changed all of our lives. (Goodness knows I am typing on a Mac, and chatting on the phone with my iPhone, while my boyfriend is researching on his Macbook just how much an iPad would cost!)
