Who Doesn’t Need a Lightsaber Wall Sconce?

It’s never been so easy to buy nerdy home décor. I know that items like Batman night lights and Spiderman bedspreads have been around for several years, but now, you can get almost anything in geek flavor. Thanks to Williams-Sonoma you can even stock your kitchen with an entire arsenal of Star Wars tools. Sandwiches taste better when they’re shaped like the Millennium Falcon. At least, that’s what 4 out of 5 geeks say.

Here’s a small sampling of what’s out there.

Lightsaber Wall Sconce – What, you thought I was making the title up? You can change the color of the lightsaber to one of eight different hues with a remote control. It’s a multisensory experience too; it emits the basic humming lightsaber sound effect. The neatest part is that it comes in five pieces you have to build before activating it. I know some might be groaning about yet another piece of Star Wars merchandise. But I figure, why not? It will probably make someone, or several hundred someones, happy to have the glow of a lightsaber over the bed at night.

X-Men Clock on Recycled Vinyl Record – This Etsy shop recycles comic book covers, vinyl records, and you get a very cool looking clock out of the deal. I think that’s a win all around. The seller has other comics available and takes requests too!

Marvel Comic Book Wall Mural – Nothing adds a splash of color to your abode like a mural of comic book covers. It’s bound to catch eyes at 9 feet tall and 15 feet wide. Though I’m not a fan of the $250 price tag, I can’t deny that it’s a striking piece. I think it could really work with almost any color walls too. It would be very cool if they had a customizable option so you could pick all your favorite comics and covers. If you’re a DC Comics fan, you’re out of luck for now. Oddly enough, this is the only comic book company with a wall mural right now.

Batman Shower Curtain – This last one just proves that if you can think of it (I am not the only person that thinks about Batman and showers at the same time), it exists. I like the simple design of this shower curtain. I bet it would freak me out on a regular basis though.

If none of these things are your style or in your budget, do what I do. Add action figures or ship models everywhere. An entire fleet from Battlestar Galactica lines my bookshelves and miscellaneous Star Wars characters are on my coffee table and just around. I want to put a shelf up in the kitchen for toys too. Maybe it’s not super chic, but I’m not overly concerned with that.

I'm still hoping to receive (or finally break down and buy for myself) the Stargate SG-1 coasters from QMx.
