That is some unfortunate hand placement. From the way the fingers are curled, it was clearly supposed to be wrapped around her upper arm, but… something went wrong there. If I didn't know better, I'd say the two characters were drawn separately and then photoshopped together but the compositor slid Emma too far to the right or too far down or something.
