Lisa Fary's earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She's angry that it's 2011 and she still doesn't have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.

"…Repo! The Genetic Opera. BTW, even as a murderous organ repo man, Anthony Head is still a total silver fox."

Oh, hells yes! I love, love, love this movie. Where else are you going to get Sarah Brightman and Paris Hilton singing an operatic duet? Awesome! (Also, Terence 'Graverobber' Zdunich is scary yummy.)

"What are you doing this summer?"

Well, sadly, my TV schedule is still pretty full, what with Burn Notice, Leverage, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, True Blood, My Boys, Eureka, and Warehouse 13 all coming back in the next few weeks. That said, I'll also be doing some grilling with (and baking for) my friends, hiking, camping, reading, painting (walls, not art), gaming, and planning a trip to Italy for the Fall. Plus, y'know, work.

Sounds like a great summer. I'm going to finish BSG, work on making a BSG fighter pilot uniform, sell one of my sites so I have more free time, open a Cthulhu store on Etsy (thereby taking away some of the free time)…and work, of course.

I started a container garden on my apartment balcony last year and loved working on it. I almost rented a house this year just to have more room for it. There's something just fascinating to me about watching everything grow.

Aside from that, my plans for the summer currently revolve around learning to play the ukulele.

  5. I am going to be doing science most of the summer, as in the working world, I don't really notice summer that much. Actually, summer is field season for us scientists, so it can be even worse! However without too many new TV shows (Futurama though!!), I would like to try and get into Dr. Who finally. My hubs was also walking about rewatching B5 and it's my favorite, so I approve. You have to barrel through the first season though to get to the really good stuff! We'll probably watch more movies too, I don't know what's on the netflix cue, well, Tron next, then I don't know.

Since I have way too much time on my hands during the summer, I end up watching A LOT of old TV and reading. I'm currently watching SGU for the first time. Also, I've gone back to rewatch Buffy and Angel from the beginning, thank you, Netflix! I've also gotten into Dr. Who, finally. There's a lot of back eps to watch of that, too.

USA, TNT and Syfy have great original programming for the summer: Burn Notice, Royal Pains, White Collar, Leverage, Eureka, and Caprica. My DVR will still be kickin' it in overdrive, all summer long.

And don't forget the return of True Blood and Dexter! Oh, and Futurama. Summer hiatus is no longer the hiatus it used to be… Thank gods!
