Caprica Preview – In Which I Objectify the Adamas

By Lisa Fary
Because of the James Marsters interview the other day, I was able to see an early copy of “Know They Enemy”. There are spoilers ahead, but they’ll be shrouded by my newest invention: Hot Babe Text.

Here are some non-spoilery details:

  • James Marsters makes his debut as Soldiers of the One terrorist, Barnabus Greely.
  • But, he’s only on screen for about five minutes, and not all at once.
  • And he doesn’t get his shirt off. I was hoping for that.
  • At least we get a nice close up of Esai Morales’ newly tattooed chest.

Now, the spoilers. Spoilers start at the first hot babe and end at the second hot babe. That should make it easy (and fun!) to avoid any unwanted info.

Daniel’s techie rival, Virgis, arrives seeking vengeance for his two dead employees (killed during the theft of the MCP device currently housing the Zoe program) and generally antagonizing Daniel. Sister Clarice ingratiates herself to Amanda, gaining entry to the Graystone house and copying the Zoe program. Zoe and Daniel’s flunky make a love connection in V-World.

Let’s thank Lee Adama and his great uncle Sam for their services here today.

My usual commentary will appear in the usual post after the ep has aired. See, I really am considerate.

Lisa Fary is a graduate of the creative writing program at Florida State University and holds an advanced degree in Special Education. Her earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She’s angry that it’s 2010 and she still doesn’t have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.

I approve of this method. Very nice. :)

(Also, I fear not the spoilers and… Holy crap.)

  2. This is an excellent spoiler alert system. Very, very nice job!

Glad you all approve. I do my best to be an innovator.

does anyone else have some confusion with Zoe's motivations?  I don't quite understand her.  What's her end game?  If she hates tech, why was she into programming?  Is there any "normal teen girl" in her?  Does she care about her parents? Her father?  Her mom? Her friends?  Does she really like that guy?  I don't think there's any character on tv that's  confused this much.  She's worse than Don Draper.

Though I'm enjoying Caprica very much so far, I'm still a big enough BSG fan that I'm watching them like a hawk for consistencies. Here's a consistency that pleased me very much: Now we know where Leland got his GUH arms from. ;)
