Caprica Countdown – Day 5

Just over a week to go until the new series from Syfy, Caprica, bursts onto our screens. Continuing our Caprica Countdown, which is packed full of must-have* information about the series. On Release Day, Jan 22th, you can read my report from the Caprica set as you wait anxiously for 9 PM Eastern Time.

Five Finals Beginning?

Caprica is separate, but related to, Battlestar Galatica, as Mark Stern, executive vice president of original content for Syfy and co-head of Universal Cable Productions, said at the Caprica Press Tour. Over the Four Seasons of BSG the true nature of the Cylons (and everything else, for that matter) was hinted at, picked over and teased apart until the final reveal. And yet…so many things still unknown. I found the ending to BSG to be…not what I expected.

When I saw the Caprica DVD it wasn’t that long after the BSG finale. That didn’t stop me from having high hopes for Caprica, though, and I was not disappointed. The show gripped me from the start and it’s been a long time to wait to see how things unfold. I’m not expecting all the many questions left hanging from BSG to be resolved and I think that’s a good thing. Maybe some of the answers will be on found on The Caprican:

“…We’re your one-stop source for all that’s happening in the Colonies’ sophisticated metropolis, from the latest Pyramid scores to who’s on Sarno. Stay tuned!…”

We will see the start of the Cylons, but what is the real beginning? Watch this Space…
