Caprica Countdown – Day 9

By WorldofHiglet
Caprica, the new series from Syfy, will burst onto our screens in a few short days. Here we continue our Caprica Countdown, packed full of must-have* information about the series. On Release Day, Jan 22th, you can read my report from the Caprica set as you wait anxiously for 9 PM Eastern Time. And don’t forget the PinkRaygun/Caprica give away Haiku Challenge.

Nine Ladies Dancing

To be honest, I’m not sure how many were actually dancing in the V(irtual) Club we see when…Oh! Did I say too much? If you haven’t seen the DVD release of Caprica yet then obviously you are waiting until Jan 22th so you can see it on TV. The thing is, while it is unclear what will be cut from the DVD, these scenes are likely to be the first to be ripped, shredded and left bloodied on the cutting room floor.

Caprica-V-Club

Chances are you might see a lot fewer than nine ladies doing anything, which would be a pity because I didn’t think that those scenes were particularly graphic. Well, except that one bit where….Anyway, they also helped cement the story, give a real taste of how advanced the technology is, and showed how visceral it can be. Without the ‘more real than real’ feel it’s hard to understand everything that happens after. Good job we only have nine more days until we find out…

  1. Robin says:

I believe the word you're looking for is "boobies". Can't show breasts on basic cable! Think of the childrens!

As for the other reason those scenes are likely to be cut down, well, I can't really disagree with the "too graphic" label on that front.

  2. Well, yes, some of it makes for questionable family viewing, for sure. I think my teens will be watching with me so it'll be interesting to see what they make of it. My feeling is that they will not find it as engaging but I don't think it's aimed at them, anyway.
