I Forgot to Be Thankful

By Lisa Fary – Now that Thanksgiving is over, I finally figured out what I’m thankful for. Everything sucks so much right now that it was a struggle to come up with something. You know, besides the obvious things like having a job and all my teeth, being in decent health, all the Pink Raygun writers, my family, blah, blah, blah. I feel like naming those things is kind of a cop out, like saying “the day my kid was born” in the inevitable “best day of your life” conversation (mine continues to be the day I rode an elephant at the San Diego Zoo).

FlashForward: Believe

By Jenn Kim – Coincidentally, I’ve been having a lot of lively discussion with Babe and friends re: the important distinction between creepy stalkers and really sweet romantics. After some soul-searching debate, we came to the eye-opening conclusion that the only real difference is the level of attractiveness said potential stalker-slash-romantic holds to the object of his affection. It’s the reason why Edward Cullen can get away with sneaking into Bella’s bedroom to watch her sleep after knowing her for like, a day, and why I want to file a restraining order against the guy I met online after he sent me a few simple e-mails.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloon Inflation

Inflating Bloggers’ Hearts Since 2009 – By Jenn Kim – This year, for the first time in balloon history, Macy’s (in coordination with NBC), invited a group of awesome bloggers for a private tour of the inflation site. One of the best things about the tour was being on the inside of the police barricades whilst all of the throngs of people, many of whom were children, were forced to stand behind them. It kept me warm during the cold drizzle and rain.

Heroes: Thanksgiving

By TrinityVixen – I am thankful that this week’s episode, unlike the rest of the commercial world at large, is making an effort to recognize that there is an American holiday between Halloween and Christmas. Time to find out what all these heroes have to be thankful for—aside from, you know, having amazing super powers.

5 Dishes You Don’t Want to See on Your Thanksgiving Table

By Lisa Fary – Nothing says “Thanksgiving” like gnawing on a piece of turkey jerky fresh from the oven while insisting, “Oh, no! It’s not dry at all!” to your anxious sister-in-law. The green bean casserole with Funyuns? A crunchy bit of heaven! And that slice of jellied cranberry “sauce”? Crantastic!

Interview: Nick Willing and Caterina Scorsone of Alice

Last week, I was on a conference call with writer/ director Nick Willing and actress Caterina Scorsone for SyFy’s new miniseries, Alice. I didn’t get to ask my question, so as you read this, try to imagine me lurking under the words, seething, spitting “It’s not your personal interview, dude! GAWD!”

The Guild Season 3 Episode 12 – Hero

By WorldofHiglet – After a tumultuous series of events, it all comes down to this: Codex is on her own, battling against the forces of anarchy that threaten to remove the very existence of The Knights of Good from the servers. Forever. And so we launch into the Season 3 finale…

V: It’s Only the Beginning

By Lisa Fary – Bliss? That asinine skinning scene? Did a high school drama club write this $h!t? Seriously, this makes Flash Gordon on the SciFi Channel look brilliant.

Supernatural: Abandon All Hope

What? No Kiss for Sammy? – by Sylvia Bond – The ep starts out with a fat cat banker making a deal with a crossroads demon. In the middle of the day yet, and under a busy underpass somewhere in the Big City. What makes this deal interesting is not the deal itself, as I imagine that there are quite a number of CEOs, right this VERY minute, making the very same deal, to save their banks and their retirement funds and their own cigar-puffing-lardo behinds. What makes the mark in this scene is the male-on-male kissing. With tongues and everything.

Fringe: August

By Rhea Dee – I was totally worried about this episode. All the promos were focused on the Observers and Baldo and all their mysteries being revealed. Um, I don’t want to know all their mysteries. They’re mysterious, that’s part of their effing appeal. There is nothing truly appealing about clearing up mysteries about characters that thrive on being mysterious.

Interview: The Guild Director, Sean Becker

By WorldofHiglet – I was lucky enough to talk to Sean Becker, Emmy Award-winning Director of The Guild Seasons 2 and 3, last week. I’ve been reviewing Season 3 of the award-winning webseries, The Guild, here on PinkRaygun. On Tuesday the Season 3 finale will be posted, which is not to be missed!

Alice in Syfy Land

By Lisa Fary – I’m still on the fence about Alice. Not feeling excited, but am mildly interested even though the miniseries is from the same guy who did Tin Man and Hallmark Entertainment’s disastrous Jason and the Argonauts miniseries.

Chuck: I Miss You; Come Back to Me!

by Jenn Kim – So I’ve been dealing with a lot of the unfamiliar lately: new city, new job, new people to judge me as I stumble drunkenly into them. Anyway, with all of these changes, I’ve been craving something familiar and comfortable to keep me warm during these already cold nights. And since I left my Snuggie in Jersey, I turn to the next best thing: television. (Shut up, I’m not lonely! *Sniff.)

Heroes: Brother’s Keeper

By TrinityVixen – Damn it, show, you had totally suckered me. I stopped approaching Monday evenings with dread a few weeks ago. Look at all that happened that didn’t make me want to stick my head in an oven! Peter got a ten-episode window in which to exercise the mass of cells above his neck. Samuel danced circles around everyone without losing his footing. We met non-obnoxious new folk—Emma, Edgar, Lydia. Mohinder was MIA, so science got a few weeks free from abuse. I should have known it wouldn’t last.

The Guild Season 3 Episode 11: LAN Off!

By WorldofHiglet – Now, of all the things I have imagined Codex being, a gang member is not one of them. EVER. Codex is about as gangsta as Weird Al, and gives “White and Nerdy” a whole new level. Bless her, though – she can dream as she pulls some interesting gang signs (bunny ears? Really??).
