This is John Boehner at a press conference this morning on the topic of a GOP health care bill: "We have a number of ideas that we would like to proffer in this process, and we’re not quite sure how the majority intends to proceed. And so until we understand how they intend to proceed, it’s pretty difficult for us to have a solid plan." I find it hard to believe that the reason why insurers routinely deny coverage, drop people when they become sick, and drive the sick into bankruptcy is because of trial lawyers pursing heath care workers who made mistakes. What I do believe is that I shouldn't be financially destroyed because I get sick. I should be able to get my prescribed treatment at a reasonable cost. Funny. For a group who screams "SMALL GOVERNMENT!!!!" and "FREE TO CHOSE!!!", you bunch are certainly quick to make decisions about who can marry who, what medical procedures women can have done, and what religious teachings should be posted in courthouses. BTW, Amtrak always gets me where I'm going on time and at a reasonable price. I've also used the DMV in multiple cities and multiple states and never had a problem. Uhm maybe asking you to investigate your claims more? The "conservatives" have attempted to introduce at least SIX policies of their own.. but since the Dems are the majority, they are being ignored. Conservatives are all for healthcare reform.. we really are.. We don't believe someone should be fined if they decide (choose -as in free to choose) to not have healthcare. we believe policing all the fraud that is already abundant can save billions of dollars. We believe unions should not be able to keep their own cadillac insurance policies. We believe you should be FREE to CHOOSE (see the difference -- choice vs gov't mandates) insurance across state lines. We believe the trial lawyers need to be reined in and torte reform introduced so doctors don't keep asking for every test in the book in order to protect themselves from malpractice suits. Conservatives believe gov't should not run your life from cradle to grave and can't run a program successfully if their lives depended on it (oops ours will!).
