Sylvia Bond is a ten-year technical writing veteran with too many degrees under her belt to count. She lives in Colorado, but does not ski, preferring instead to spend her money and time at the annual Great American Beer Festival, taking road trips across the United States, and reading historical fiction from the comfort of her fluffy green arm chair. She has been involved in fandom since 1993 and been writing fanfic since approximately 1993. What she finds most amazing about fandom (besides the open heartedness of fans and the sheer amount of creativity) is how visible fandom has become. "In my day," she says, "we had to hide behind P.O. boxes to get fanfic. But nowadays, people wear t-shirts that shout their affiliation and share their shiny toys on the internet." It's a wonderful world.

Very good answer! I think you are right. Poor Nurse.

I don't want to come across as a Bobby hater, because I don't hate Bobby, I'm just tired of him doing all the boys work for them! And yeah, he should have died, having been possessed whilst being stabbed with the Demon Killing Knife!

  3. Sylvia_Bond says:

Well thank goodness for that! I would hate to think of the Impala being destroyed…..

Jared was lovely, as always! Can his legs get any longer???

I know I saw all those Deanish bits you mention, but my attention was distracted by the newness of it all! And yeah, Ackles did look tired, but I put it down to Dean being tired…because I hope Ackles is getting his rest and eating his broccoli because he's got a big season ahead. Padalecki too!

Yes, get in line please. : D
I love that you guys are paying attention and calling me on this because No, I didn't go back and watch the last ep of S4 to double check myself, alas. Was it a Mustang? Definitely a Ford, right? All we have to do is wait, someone will know….

I'm glad yo enjoyed the review – and yeah, Season five here we COME!!!!

Interesting point about Sam being cured and all of his addiction – it's somewhat like when Dean was yanked out of hell and he was re-hymenized. So if the thing with Sam is a cheat, then so is the one with Dean. Yes? I'd like to think that Sam just THINKS he's cured, but like a placebo effect.

I didn't know that the demon killing knife had to make a killing strike…like, for example, when Dean aimed at the YED, the bullet hit him in the shoulder and it still killed him. Yet, yeah, when Sam aimed at The Dad and hit him in the leg, he didn't die. Interesting unevenness there. So alright, say the blow doesn't have to be a killing one to the human host – still? To cause enough damage to paralyze? Bobby would have had to stab himself deep and through all KINDS of organs. I'm just saying, the hospital scene lacked a whole lot of realism.

But yeah, Show is back, and we have…mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…Samhair!!! And Dean's legs!!!! Whoot, WHOOT!

I have to respectfully disagree about the angels. I find them very interesting especially with what show has decided to do with them. As a Deangirl I must say I'm also very pleased with where his story line is going and Sam's as well. I fear however, that this sets up the potential for a finale where both boys die. I can see it happening logically in the story and I wouldn't put it past the Krip.

  8. Sylvia_Bond says:

Oh, the burning!!! *Covers ears* The boys won't die, don't even think it! They're going to drive off happily into the sunset, don't you know that? : D

Lots of people like the angels, so you're not alone. I just haven't seen the use of them much. I did like the Soap Angel and his flashing eyes this time around, and Chuck the Prophet. Not exactly an angel, but holy, right?

  9. Robin says:

Syl, wasn't the nurse in RUBY's trunk? I don't think she was in the Impala. Just a plot point you and I might be disagreeing on here. I'm NOT tired of the angels, at least not yet. So you're alone there, sorry, my friend. I was delighted Becky was a Samgirl. It just tickled the hell out of me when she dismissed Dean with, "You weren't what I expected at all," or whatever she said. I guess since I know Deangirls outnumber Samgirls, I like to see scenes like this once in a while. I wonder if whatever saved Dean and Sam from Lucifer and resurrected Castiel was also able to prevent Bobby from dying BUT not prevent his paralysis? That might explain why Bobby was sitting up, talking, not on a morphine drip, etc. It's a stretch, but so much supernatural stuff happened in this ep, surely some of it might have affected Bobby, too.

As for that last scene, my heart broke for both Sam and Dean. They were doomed the moment Azazel set eyes on Mary in 1973. I love those two like real people, damn it, and want them back together, trusting, loving, and caring about each other as they did before. It might take all of season 5, but Kripke, I want them back together and ALIVE, you hear me?

    Love, Robin

Yes, this puts it exactly right! Dean wasn't mad about the seal, there's nothing you can do when you're fated for something like that. Your grandmother's dish is a perfect example – it's not the object, it's the emotions behind it.

Sam's choice of going with Ruby is what kills Dean most of all.
