Defying Gravity: Premiere

By Lisa Fary – Supposedly, Defying Gravity was pitched as “Grey’s Anatomy with astronauts”. I’ve never seen Grey’s Anatomy, so I wouldn’t know how accurate that summation may be; however, ABC’s new sci-fi drama does have all kinds of emotional baggage and love parallelograms.

Warehouse 13: Magnetism and Claudia

By Lisa Fary – Warehouse 13 conflicts with Big Brother on Tuesdays, and in the summertime, I’m Big Brother’s bitch. Maybe if Eddie McClintock showed more skin, I’d be more motivated to watch Warehouse 13 as it airs instead of on DVR or On Demand. Yes. I’m a pig.

Books: The Time Traveler’s Wife

By Lisa Fary – Sometimes I hate myself for being so pragmatic. It really gets in the way of enjoying a book like The Time Traveler’s Wife.

If Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It: A Message to Hollywood

By JR Pepper – When is too much too much? That seems to be the question that the folks in Hollywood just can’t seem to answer when it comes to remakes, prequels, and sequels. Well, I suppose the answer is “when it stops making money”. And that just burns my biscuits.

Live from San Diego’s Comic-Con – Thursday

by Juliana Weiss & Josh Roessler This is the first year that Josh and I have attended Thursday at Comic-Con. This is also the first year that I have been royally pissed at Comic-Con. Connected? I don’t know. Maybe the line blows every year on Thursday to get into the Con, but after Josh and [...]

Drop Dead Diva: The F Word

By Lisa Fary At least Lifetime got the obligatory episode wherein Deb realizes how judgmental the world is out of the way early. It’s a revelation to Prettygirls! like Deb, but for the rest of us, it’s kind of preaching to the choir. We’ve heard and seen it before, so it just got annoying. Related [...]

Torchwood: Children of Earth Day Three

By Lisa Fary – Now that the team is back together, and in Jack’s case, no longer naked, where do they go? Hitwoman is still after them. They still have no allies. The best they can do is hole up in an abandoned warehouse in London and take stock of their save-the-world arsenal: a dead laptop, useless credit cards and cell phone, stamps, and a pair of contact lenses.

What the Hell is Sargasso Planet?

By Lisa Fary – I love it when unexpected packages show up at my door. For a second, I might let myself think it’s something form a relative I’ve forgotten about or never knew that will propel me on some worldwide adventure. Then I realize that I don’t have a passport, making such an adventure a bureaucratic nightmare. Just when I think it’s really better to stay home because I get so pissy when tired, I notice that the box is from a PR company. Adventure fantasy canceled.

Eureka: Your Face Or Mine

By Jeff Nieves – After churning out what was, to me, a rather blah episode last week, the writers of Eureka came back with a home run. The moment we’ve all been waiting for (or possibly just me) has finally arrived, Fargo has a love interest! Not only does he have a love interest but he’s got a cute love interest!

Merlin: Gates of Avalon

By Lisa Fary – Oh, look. Another evil sorceress. Psych. Not really. That’s the feeling I got from this most recent episode of Merlin, “The Gates of Avalon.” Arthur and Merlin come upon an old man and his daughter, Sophia, being attacked by highway robbers. True to his heroic self, Arthur saves them, garnering them an audience with King Uther and a pit stop in his castle (which seems to be a pretty common commodity).
