The Harvey Awards: John Says It’s Honor to be Nominated

I’ve only ever been nominated for one award: in 6th grade I was nominated for the class “Most Meaningful Looks Award” because of my complete inability to fall into a poker face. Whatever annoyance I felt for Ms. Palmer was all over my face. No one else has ever found that habit of mine quite as funny as she did. The 6th Grade Class Awards weren’t as prestigious as the Harvey Awards, but it’s what I have.

Virtuality

By Lisa Fary – At some point, I’ll have to find forgiveness in my withered heart for Ron D. Moore. I was so angry about the finale of that show (you know the one), but then Caprica turned out to be so good, and now Virtuality looks like it would be even better.

Webseries Review: Gavin Lance

By Melissa Voelker – Transferring print media to TV or film can be a tricky business, especially if the source material is a comic book or graphic novel. In some cases it works out well, such as with “Sin City” and “The Dark Knight.” In other cases it doesn’t work out so well (that is being generous really), such as with “The Spirit” and “Fantastic Four.” What all of these great and not so great adaptations have in common is that they come from stories that already existed in one form and were being changed into another.

Buffy vs. Edward

by Juliana Weiss-Roessler I am ashamed to admit that I have read all of the Twilight books. In case you were wondering, I was firmly on Team Jacob until he forced Bella to kiss him. From that point on, I had no team. However, I am glad Bella and Edward ended up together, because I [...]

Review: Impact on ABC

By Lisa Fary – Don’t worry about the moon crashing into the Earth and vaporizing the planet. Kids and family will save us. Perhaps by forming a vortex of annoying, righteous earnestness that will devour the moon’s gravitational threat. Even that’s better science than what’s going on in Impact.

Read the transcript after the jump.
