By Rachel Pandich – Any fangirl (or fanboy) that has been to a “nerd” convention of any kind knows how testosterone driven they can be. The male to female ratio tends to be 10:1, or at least sometimes it feels that way. That gender gap grows when you look at just the artists, writers and creators at the booths and panels. This is why it was so refreshing when a friend pointed out a writer/creator coming up in the geek culture ranks who is a female.

By Rhea Dee – I love shows that play songs I love. Which is why I got ridiculously excited when this episode kicked off by playing “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”, Goth anthem. Uh…major win! The last time I was this excited over song usage in TV was when Kate from Lost played “Walkin’ After Midnight.” Good going Fringe, you have hipster music cred.

By Lisa Fary – I’ve been very open about my recent disappointment in the titles at the comic shop and that there are very few I’m interested in anymore. I don’t want to read about zombies or superheroes. I’m not invested enough in mainstream characters to really care about “events” or “deaths” (I didn’t even know Bruce Wayne had “died” until I read Teresa’s review of “Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?” I’m sure he’ll be back, just like Stefano on Days of Our Lives. Unless he isn’t, in which case, bravo, DC, for making something stick).
