Finally, after months and months of crap American Idol bs, Fringe is back!
I think it’s a good time for a quick recap, yes? It has been 2 months since we last saw a Fringe episode, and my mind is overcrowded with enough geeky things as it is. So, to recap the most important bits of Fringe:

-Olivia has a Cigarette Smoking Man at work! Sandford Harris is his name, and he’s on the job to review the credibility of the Fringe division. Harris isn’t as omnipotent as the Cigarette Smoking Man, or as secretive, but he’s a general nuisance and butts heads with Olivia over protocol procedures. The good news is that Olivia’s got Broyles on her side and he’s waaay better than Skinner ever was to Mulder and Scully (mostly because Skinner was also under the Cigarette Smoking Man’s thumb).
-Olivia’s ‘Dead-Double-Crossing-Sweetie-Pie-Is-In-Her-Head-Sharing-Her-Thoughts’ arc is over. Double yay! That whole arc had a lot of ups and downs, as far as quality storytelling, and it’s probably the only thing that has bothered me about the show so far. It’s good that they finally clamped down on that, especially since Olivia is becoming closer to Peter, Walter and Astrid. Escaping into her mind for a dull character when there are other fascinating ones right in the room was always a bit wtf for me.
-Mr. Jones, aka the prison teleportation guy, has transformed into something else. He was dying, and then…boom! Gigantic hole in his hospital room. What the hell? Hulk smash? Why do I get the feeling that they’re gonna hold out on revealing exactly what happened for a long time? (Hopefully it won’t be as long as the giant four toed foot statue of Lost. And on that note, hopefully when we do get to see Hulk Mr. Jones, it’s not for four freakin’ seconds.)
-Olivia has super powers! Okay, she shut off some lights with her mind. Maybe. But still, powers! Yay! I loved this little plot development; I hope she discovers more powers in the coming episodes/seasons.
-My GOD, WALTER WROTE THAT BOOK. The weird technology manifesto book! And he didn’t even know it at first!! That had to the best cliffhanger of the season so far. Kudos to John Noble’s acting–the look on his face at the end of the episode when he realizes that he’s the “nut” that wrote the book is amazing. It made the whole scene that more shocking.
Jeez, I can’t wait for this show to be back. Is it 9 PM yet?

Rhea Dee teeters between hipster and geek (at least that’s what that one quiz said). She spends her time collecting vintage junk, daydreaming about Eli Roth, and pondering the genius of John Carpenter soundtracks. She really likes horror films.

Thank you for doing this! I'm so excited for tonight, but there were some (not-so) little things I forgot I was excited about. Like WALTER WRITING THAT BOOK! Woah.
But I'm mostly excited about Olivia's new abilities! She's already badass, but now she's moreso. I have to say, I love Anna Torv. She rocks that part.
Also, more shirtless Peter, please! K Thx Bye.
Lastly, I have to say that the ‘Dead-Double-Crossing-Sweetie-Pie-Is-In-Her-Head-Sharing-Her-Thoughts’ arc didn't bother me so much, because it made sense, and it came to a logical (and touching) conclusion. Though I am glad that it ended, because if she was seeing him this season, it would totally take away from her badassery.
You forgot one major show-changing bit: the book was about an invasion from other worlds in the multiverse. Presumably this means The Observer and much of the weird technology is from parallel worlds too. It fits with Abrams' statement that there are no aliens in the show, but that The Observer was from Earth but not where we can see him. Unless Walter was nuts when he wrote the book, but I get the district impression that he wasn't nuts before he was commited for 17 years.
