Lisa Fary's earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She's angry that it's 2011 and she still doesn't have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.

Oh, I disagree. I think you SHOULD take pleasure in Kate getting rejected. When I first saw that this was going to be a Kate episode – *huge groan* HOWEVER, I do agree with you that they've redeemed her a bit. She actually *gasp* DID SOMETHING this episode. She MADE A DECISION and FOLLOWED THROUGH ON IT. Yes, there was Patsy Cline in this episode again (seriously, someone get Kate an iTunes card), but it was a solid, heartbreaking story for her.

It helped that she did something selfless without ulterior motives (actually TWO somethings selfless!). I'm hoping that now that Jack and Sawyer seem to be totally out of the picture for her, she can get back to something like character development.
