Aww.. this is so sweet, what a nice guy as well, to have followed through all these years ago. I've never joined a fan club before, and only wrote 1 fan letter, ages ago when I was 16, not really thinking I'd get a response, but I did, an autographed photo that I just treasured. Anyway, I enjoyed reading about this, it finally reached me on twitter this evening, all these many weeks after it started making the rounds.

Aww.

I never went so far as to join any fanclubs, but I was a fan of both Wil Wheaton and Jonathan Brandis during that era. (I mean, come on, seaQuest was the touching story of a boy and his dolphin… and the cranky guy from Jaws… and some other people. I was a thirteen-year-old geek girl. There was no fighting it.) I have A Serious Thing for fictional geek boys in general, from Simon Tam to Chuck Bartowski, from Jimmy Olson to Daniel Jackson, and I'm pretty sure it all started with Adric on Doctor Who.

I so feel your pain, Teresa, and have no doubt that Wil will make it up to you in a way composed at least partially of awesome.
