Okay, maybe I am bit more sensitive these weeks but lately I’ve been noticing a lot more rude behavior in WoW. So here are a few behaviors I would like to see curbed in WoW. I think it would make the game a much more enjoyable experience for all.
When in battlegrounds please don’t tell the rest of us how much we suck and how great you are. That does nobody any good. If you really are the great leader you propose to be then you wouldn’t insult those around. Yeah it may have worked for Patton but it’s not going to work for you. You’re not Patton. Plus Patton did more than push a bunch of buttons in a game. People need to remember that proficiency in WoW basically means you can push a bunch of buttons really fast. Which is cool and all but doesn’t necessarily translate all that well into real world skills. So even if the rest of us suck, don’t tell us. Try to remember we’re probably good at other things.
Begging. Begging is never good. I get annoyed when my dog does it for table scrapes (despite the fact that she is so cute) but I get more annoyed when people do it in WoW. Just because I am level 80 dress in mostly epics doesn’t mean I lot have a lot of free cash. In fact most of the time I am pretty poor as I keep changing professions. The game though is quite fair. Chances are if you need 10 gold the game will give you a way to earn that gold. A way that doesn’t involve spamming people you don’t know.
What’s up the all the “Chuck Norris” chats? Why are so many WoW players so obsessed with Mr. Norris? I admit on occasion one or two of them are funny (“Chuck Norris counted to infinity – twice) but on the whole I find most of them annoying. I know theirs freedom of speech and all that. I know I have an ignore command. I just don’t understand the fascination with Mr. Norris. Sometimes there is so much chat about him going on it makes it impossible to see any real comments. It almost makes the buy gold from us spammers seem interesting.
Finally it is important to remember that the other players you are interacting with are real live people. They are not bots are nonplayer characters. They are living, breathing people with thoughts and feelings just like you. Try to remember that and treat them like you’d like to be treated. Hmm, that sounds like a pretty important rule. Somebody should write that down.
