The cover is hokey and the premise...unbelievable? Though, obviously, that's part of the point. The thing is, if so many of the population died out would there even be the Internet or 'American Hero'? Surely it would change the future in a profound way? But you have made it sound like you can put such questions aside and actually enjoy the story for what it is (whatever that is!) so I might look them up in the library once the snow has receded.
