BSG Haiku Review: Face of the Enemy, Part 1
By Lisa Fary
They’re only gonna give us three minutes? We’re only gonna give them three lines.
Writing haikus brings me back to elementary school and the yearly activity of writing tiny poems about nature and illustrating them with crookedly drawn cherry tree branches on manila paper. I hated writing haikus then, mostly because I just didn’t find nature all that inspiring. Probably because I hate nature.
The new BSG webisodes, however, are endlessly inspiring. If only I still had crayons and manila paper on which to illustrate them.
And now, the first of the Battlestar Galactica Webisode Haiku Review(s), composed by Lisa and John:
#1
Making Gaeta gay?
A little bit on the nose.
Leg looks like Cylon.
#2
Gaeta needs no sleep.
Two skinjobs on the flight deck.
Floating, lost in space.
#3
Cylon appendage.
He puts the “gay” in Gaeta.
Might as well jump. Jump!

Lisa Fary’s early exposure to classic Battlestar Galactica in 1979 is largely responsible for her lifelong interest in science fiction and her childhood ambition of being an intergalactic space cowgirl. She thinks diagramming sentences is a fun alternative to Sudoku.
