so i'm not even sure if you read the comments here anymore, but yeah, i'm going back to season 2 (which i think may be my favorite season) and rewatching episodes. in the midst of watching "hollywood babylon" again, and i noticed and loved another inside joke: sam: "does this seem like it's swimming pool weather to you, dean? it's practically canadian!" which is so cute, because, you know…show is filmed in vancouver.

i LOVE this episode because i LOVE happy dean! it reminds me of the heartbreaking episode what is and what should never be, giving us a glimpse of what his life would be like without the hunting, and how he has a natural zest for life that gets crushed with all the saving the world responsibilities. and the way he eats food- omg, i could watch him eat food ALL THE TIME. "they're like miniature philly cheese steaks- they're DELICIOUS." he moves his mouth SO WELL. sigh. deangirl forever and ever.

thank you for posting these reviews. every time i rewatch an espisode, i look up your review and get all happy with all the nuanced observations and winchester love!

Yes Sam and Dean must always be together otherwise I remain brokenhearted till the end of time.

And Sylvia, I too prefer Heart over Nightshifter. There you go again being a kindred spirit.

Hi Tonia and Sylvia!

Wow, more time zones to deal with. Isn't it wonderful having a close friend like that though?
We all owe her big time.

Anyway, yes I do like the ending of Nightshifter because it gets my heart racing. Plus, it is cool and Dean says one of my favorite lines ever "We are so screwed". However, Heart also has a special place in my 'heart' because it has some beautiful moments but the ending just kills me. I cried like a baby at the end…. The tears…the song…the gunshot…and Dean flinching. Darn it! Oh my gosh that one hurt..

Of course the ending to Heaven and Hell ranks up there as well because, as you know, it took days for me to recover from that one.

I don't think I will ever be the same.

Jensen and Jared sure know how to get to us, don't they. I can't handle their tears.

PS. Tonia, you are welcome. And, thanks for the additions to my list as well. Yes, though speeches were great. I like when they open up to each other. Makes my heart melt and my knees weak.

Hey, thanks for the additions to my list. They are GREAT additions. I simply adore Dean's mouth and Sam's eyes.

Oh, BTW, I just remembered something from 'Bloodlust'. When Gordon called Sam 'Sammy'. The look on Jared's face was priceless at that moment and then he said, 'He is the only one who can call me Sammy". GAH! You know how much I love it when Dean calls him Sammy. I just melt and I love that Sam feels the same way………. HE HE.

I am in agreement on that one as well. Those speeches did rock.

And, it is amazing how some of the episodes linger for days and others linger forever. This is a TV show darn it! But, to me it has never felt like 'just a TV show'.

Hey, thanks! Yeah, it's good to be back in operational mode. Don't know where I'd be if I couldn't talk about our boys.

This was a fun ep. I especially liked seeing the boys in a different environment. Dean had that job as a PA, who knows what the hell Sam was doing, besides skulking about the place, and how he got away without having a proper job or ID is beyond me.

And you know, it's funny. Lots of people LOVED Nightshifter. I thought it was good, I truly did, but I still love Heart better. Maybe on account of Sam's tears.

I vote for clever and sneaky on this one. Walter and Randall, in the Show and in the books, were both "evil" just on different sides of the coin (or on different Beams, if you will, say thankee sai).

Ah, yes. That makes sense, actually, thank you for pointing it out. I'm a huge King fan too, especially of his short stories.

Sometimes I think connections like this are just a fluke on Show's part, other times, I like to think that Show is very, very clever. (And sneaky!)

Walter was another name for the Man in Black from the Dark Tower series, and (if I recall correctly) it was heavily implied that Randall Flagg was another incarnation of Walter in a parallel version of the world. I am a huge Stephen King fan, and I love all the connections he weaves through his stories.

Yeah, I was amazed, too. I didn't mention it because then it would get too sad, because Heart was the saddest ep EVER.

The boys are great in this one, sort of loose and easy in their skins. It's really a joy to watch, because it's almost like they're on vacation. Which they never are.
