PHILADELPHIA, PA – Join the up and coming creators of Fishtown, Black Cherry Bombshells and Escape from Special for an evening of creativity, comics and art.

Friday December 5, from 6 to 8 pm, BRAVE NEW WORLDS, a boutique comic shop in Old City Philadelphia, is proud to host comic book creators Kevin Colden, Miss Lasko-Gross, Johnny Zito and Tony Trov for the last FIRST FRIDAY of 2008.

First Friday is a monthly celebration in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia. Galleries, restaurants and bars open their doors to showcase the city’s artists.

Comic Book Resources hails Colden’s crime comic, Fishtown, as “One of the most impressive books of the year.”

Lasko-Gross’ Escape from Special, “A moving, original graphic novel about the pain of childhood,” is also drawing critical acclaim for its auto-bio origins.

Black Cherry Bombshell creators, Trov and Zito, “Have admittedly and successfully super-imposed female characters over traditional male action movie roles,” According to Broken Frontier.
