Free Comics From Asylum Press

Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like a mailbox full of horror comics.

For the first 12 days of December, anyone who signs up for the Asylum Press mailing list will get three free comics from the publisher.  Asylum’s titles include Warlash: Zombie Mutant Genesis, Undead Evil, and Satan’s Circus of Hell.

There is one small catch: you don’t get to choose the books. (and if you’re outside the United States, soory, but no free comics for you.)  New mailing list members may get the above titles, or possibly Billy Boy The Sick Little Fat Kid, The Cletus and Floyd Show, or Asylum’s upcoming Asylum of Horrors and Beyond Lovecraft.

To sign up, send an email to asylumpress@aol.com with the subject line “Christmas Newsletter Promotion”. Don’t forget to include your mailing address.

Frank Forte, Asylum Press CEO, says, “Times are tough all over right now. This is our little way of giving back.  We have had great success with our releases Asylum of Horrors #1 and Steve Mannon’s The Bomb and want to say Happy Holidays!”

Your usual December mail deliveries typically include greeting cards with pictures of puppies, kittens, babies, and black and white nostalgia.  Break up the sentimental cuteness with mutants, death, and undeath.

Lisa Fary's earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She's angry that it's 2011 and she still doesn't have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.

Yeah, I'm totally doing this. Me want horror comics.

The hopeful, bright and shiny side of me says that they're doing this for their stated reason: "…our little way of giving back."

The cynical, realistic side of me says that they're doing this to unload a bunch of unsold merchandise at the end of the fiscal year in order to avoid taxes on inventory and get a tax deduction for the promotional value of the books.

    Either way: FREE COMICS!

Awww….no comics for Higlet…:( As you say, it could be they are trying to offload some unsold stock but who cares – it's free! Unless, of course, you live outside the US. And that bit sucks….
