Okay, that's a fair reason. I apologize if my comment sounded a little harsh. I certainly didn't mean to see say you guys hate women. BTW I thought Jo was a great character! Honestly, I just miss the old Ruby actress. While it is true that the core of the show should be the core, I don't mind some additions. Sometimes it's great to see Bobby as their wing man. It'd be fun, I think, to get a cool female to join the team from time to time. Maybe a female hunter, like their mom, with a dark secret. A little Faithy action, I dunno, but you're right about making them have a purpose and personality, it is important.

Actually, among the general throng of fans, there are plenty of women who we'd like to see the boys hook up with, it's just that when Show THROWS these women into the mix with no real thought of consequence that it gets rather funky. Anna was just the last in a long, long line of inappropriate females.

There have been more in the past that would have been totally good for either lad, for example, Jessica, Lisa, Madison, Sarah, heck, even Jo, cute, sassy, sexy, pretty, funny, smart girls, girls with substance and purpose and brains. Females who would have been good for the boys (or were) even just for a short time.

Given that, it's not hate that I feel towards Anna or any female, not liking to see women on the show is not hating women, but a preference to see the boys face the world together, just the two of them. It's the way I feel that Show works best.

I'm glad that so many people are pointing out that it would have been wrong for Sam to hug or even touch Dean during that last scene. At first I wanted him to hug Dean, too…but after I thought about it I realized I was projecting.

I know that when I get upset and people try to comfort me, it feels wrong. I don't want them to touch me. I want to be alone. My very best friends, the one's who have known me the longest, know that it's better for them to stand back, offering emotional comfort but not physical contact. That's how I interpreted that last scene and in retrospect I'm glad Show played it that way. To me it shows how Sam isn't so far gone. Sam knows his brother and he knows that Dean doesn't do 'chick-flick moments' or big hug/comfort/cuddle scenes. The best thing he could do and did do was stay quietly behind Dean listening, be subtly heart broken for his brother, and sit on the hood of their car offering his presence but not his words or actions because he knew nothing he could say or do would make Dean okay.

And that ladies and gentlemen is heartbreaking storytelling. And that is why Show is the best. And why even some of the less even episodes of Supernatural still blow the "best" episodes of other shows out of the water.

Hi Sylvia. Bravo on another fantastic review This past weeks episode was worth enduring lackluster fight scenes, skank Ruby, too many angles, etc. just to see Jensen light up the universe with his performance in the last 3 minutes. I was completely blown away and cried right along with him. I was fighting back the urge to run up to my TV screen and defy physics and logic to reach in there and hug him myself. I was wishing right along with everyone else that Sam would have but I see now that it would have been wrong, terribly wrong and that Show ended it just how it should have been. Anyway… I'm excited to see what Kripke throws at us in January. I heard some scary rumors that Show might end after this season, here's hoping there just that, rumors. Good luck with your next review, we'll all be waiting

Honestly? I really never looked that hard for them, knowing they'd harsh on my squee. I know there were problems with this ep, I do, but like Teller pointed out, there was lots to love as well. Why focus on the negative? Sure, point out continuity errors, but for pity's sake, why dwell?

However, I did end up finding some positive reviews as well. So, that made me feel better.
