Article by Teresa Jusino

TERESA JUSINO was born on the same day that Skylab fell. Coincidence? She doesn't think so. As a writer, her work has appeared in Elmont Life newspaper, and on the sadly defunct website, CentralBooking.com. She is a founding member and editor of The Revolving Door Commune Blog, is currently at work on a collection of short stories, and is writing a web series for Pareidolia Films called The Pack, which is set to debut this fall! As a geek, Teresa loves all Star Trek, Lost, Fringe, comics, and anything Joss Whedon, Brian K. Vaughan, and Neil Gaiman ever touched. She is also an aspiring fangbanger.

Heh. I definitely wouldn't hold his music against him in this case. Actually, in his bio in the back of the trade paperback, it says he's been drawing comics since he was 5…so this is a talent that he's honed and wanted to pursue for quite some time. You might not like his band, but I definitely think you'll like his comic.

And PS – I think he's kinda hot. :) Then again, I'm a sucker for a guy who can pull off eyeliner and scruffy hair…

I’m glad you wrote this, Teresa, because knowing my music snob self, I would have completely avoided this once I found out that the My Chemical Romance guy wrote it.

But what you’ve described sounds breathtaking and bizarre, two things I enjoy a lot. I’ll have to swallow my indie pride and pick this one up.

Gerard Way is an amazing writer point blank. Lyrically and in comics, he knows how to tell a good story.
