The Happening was a horrible movie. I went in to see it myself after being so psyched about the movie after watching countless trailers. I was so excited. In all, myself, my cousin, his girlfriend at the time, and my perspective now ex-boyfriend went to see the movie. My date was so bored by the movie, he was burning a quarter within the first ten minutes. I liked the actual storyline, but it seems movies with potential are more likely to fall short nowadays. The main element that captivated us four was the magnificent crazy lady. Creepiness ruled. Shamma-llama-ding-dong…absolutely brilliant, made me smile. The Happening was a horrible movie. I seriously think it was the writing that made the acting a bit wonky-whoa. Some of that dialogue...gak. Some stuff I hated: 1. The little girl. Was she pointless? Yes, she was. 2. Shove down your throat environmental message (near the end). Yes I get it, and yes I'm for the environment. What happened to subtlety? 3. That ending. Ugh. THAT ENDING!!! Oh, Shyamalan, what happened? (Oh and the Hulk was better. Edward Norton is lovely to look at.)
