@<b>Hoobajoobah</b>: <i>"Why is Admiral Adama being such a wad about Zarek? I mean, Zarek has *ALREAY* been president once, and Adama supported him then (When they escaped from New Caprica), so what’s so different about this time? Geez."</i>

Well, when they were rescuing the colonists from New Caprica, Zarek was the lesser of two evils, i.e. not as bad as Baltar. Adama has never liked either of them, but at least Zarek is honest in his political leanings and hasn't betrayed the entire human race to the enemy. Plus, Lee kinda likes the guy, Adama's currently on the outs with his only surviving blood relative, and Zarek is trying to (legally, I might add) assume the position left vacant by the disappearance of <del>Adama's girlfriend</del>, er, President Roslin.

Basically, Adama is ruled by his emotions. It's okay for a guy he doesn't like to replace a guy he hates, but not the woman he loves. Even if it's a matter of civilian government in which the military commander shouldn't have any say. It's a flaw. One that makes him human and relateable and well-rounded and, yes, sometimes kind of a dick.

...oh, one last observation: Why is Admiral Adama being such a wad about Zarek? I mean, Zarek has *ALREAY* been president once, and Adama supported him then (When they escaped from New Caprica), so what's so different about this time? Geez.

Yeah, I was totally expecting the Final Five to be mostly female to offset the male bias in the 'magnificent 7' group. They totally threw me there, unless, of course, the Cylons concluded that a woman's main role is having babies, and since they can't do that, why bother building 'em? Come to think of it...you know, all the females we've seen in the series have been extensively used as spy models. The males, not so much. Dr. Simon, for instance, has never been a spy at all, and the others haven't been very effective at it.

Hm. I wonder if that's intentional? Since the Cylons are Monogamous, and supposed to be more Judeo/Christian/Islamic than the pagan colonials, and since Western Monotheistic Religions are frequently accused of having an anti-femal bias, I wonder if that's what they were getting at, or if it was simply a case of slapdash casting?

And why the hell is Apollo still wearing his wedding ring?

The gender/hotness imbalance strikes me as particularly odd, given the supposed gender-blindness of the series and its universe. The male Cylons mostly seem to be older, too, except for Anders (and Tyrol, but he was conceived as middle-aged until they came upon Aaron Douglas).

<i>"I miss Torchwood."</i>
Me too, <b>Rhea</b>. But John Barrowman has already confirmed that they're doing series 3. There's an audio clip over here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X1kHt9KBZE&hl=en .

I've also noticed that Cylon females are not only outnumbered, but as a group they're far more attractive than the males. To me, that's weirder than being outnumbered.

The producers have said that the "Super Secret Cylons" are "Fundamentally different" from the others in some way. I'm hoping that "Fundamental Difference" isn't just the fact that they don't shoot blanks.

Hey, anyone other than me notice that the Male cylons vastly outnumber the Female cylons? Anyone other than me find that a little weird?

>>So, the megalomaniacs have either stepped down or been abducted and a young, new leader has stepped into the presidency, promising change we can believe in. If the new military head weren’t a Cylon, I’d think this was a commentary on our current political situation.<<

Could it be a nod to the crackpot theory that Obama is really a Super Secret Muslim planning to overthrow the white race?

If this were Torchwood, Tigh and Adama totally would have made out right then.

You know, you're really getting better at encapsulating these things. When you first started doing 'em, I wasn't so impressed, but nowadays, I look forward to reading your comments all wee, and eagerly check the site repeatedly until they turn up. Good job!
