Adama has never liked either of them, but at least Zarek is honest in his political leanings and hasn't betrayed the entire human race to the enemy. Plus, Lee kinda likes the guy, Adama's currently on the outs with his only surviving blood relative, and Zarek is trying to (legally, I might add) assume the position left vacant by the disappearance of <del>Adama's girlfriend</del>, er, President Roslin. Basically, Adama is ruled by his emotions. It's okay for a guy he doesn't like to replace a guy he hates, but not the woman he loves. Even if it's a matter of civilian government in which the military commander shouldn't have any say. It's a flaw. They totally threw me there, unless, of course, the Cylons concluded that a woman's main role is having babies, and since they can't do that, why bother building 'em? Come to think of it...you know, all the females we've seen in the series have been extensively used as spy models. The males, not so much. Dr. Simon, for instance, has never been a spy at all, and the others haven't been very effective at it. Hm. I wonder if that's intentional? Since the Cylons are Monogamous, and supposed to be more Judeo/Christian/Islamic than the pagan colonials, and since Western Monotheistic Religions are frequently accused of having an anti-femal bias, I wonder if that's what they were getting at, or if it was simply a case of slapdash casting?
