Aliens in Denver Caught on Tape!

By Lisa Fary

This Friday, Jeff Peckman will reveal video of a living, breathing alien to members of the media in Denver.  However, no one in attendance will be able to film or photograph the evidence.  So, it will be like John McCain “releasing” his medical records.

The Huffington Post reports that the footage “shows an extraterrestrial’s head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that’s visible through an infrared camera.”

As much as I would like this to be true, there are some factors that call Peckman’s credibility, and the reality of the footage, into question.

The “no photos, no filming” clause attached to Peckman’s press conference raises an eyebrow.  Peckman says, “There is an agreement in place limiting that kind of exposure during negotiations for the documentary.”

Documentary? Like, a documentary that might generate money?  Yes, that kind of documentary.

The footage is part of a documentary by Stan Romanek, which won’t be released for a few more months. Romanek has had multiple encounters with aliens: sightings, abductions, and something to do with equations given to him by aliens, which only came out after he underwent hypnosis.

Then there is Peckman himself.  The Rocky Mountain News reports that Peckman is “pushing for a Denver ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind.”  While an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission would be a fun roadside attraction, but encounters aren’t so frequent and open that this commission would be necessary (or even taken seriously). That’s not the proposition of a reasonable person.

I do believe that humanity is not the only intelligent life in the universe. But, based on the people involved and the circumstances surrounding them I really don’t believe that the Peckman footage is real.  Yes, I’m comfortable saying that without having seen the amazing peeping alien footage.  No, I’m not going to get the documentary in order to see the amazing peeping alien.  If it were real, reliable, and credible, this guy should release it in the public interest instead of trying to capitalize on it (financially or politically).

You know, like John McCain’s medical records.

I have a slightly different take on this. I have a feeling based on what I have seen, the progression of events, how information is hidden at first, then only after its too late to verify revealed, etc that this is not so much a hoax as it is a study on sheeple.

28th video is announced with unnamed expert
    29th expert is revealed
    30th video is shown

3 months later a documentary is released

Looking at the facts it was never stated what the documentary is about. Or at least I never saw anyone say what it was about, only that it would include this footage. The way this is released would give a few a taste of the information, then as its shown more publicly to the media – in a way it cannot be authenticated – more reporters will write about it, and the story itself will grow.

What if a poll was done a week or two ago asking how many believe in aliens, and if in 2+ months the same question will be asked again and the results compared. That would provide all the framework for a documentary on sheeple, how even inaccurate, highly unlikely things can be believed by the masses simply because the news told them, and how easy it is to trick the news into reporting said information.

I am not saying its this, but I think it is, although hope that the footage is real, I wont hold my breath for it to be real.

  2. I can see this being included in a sociology student’s PhD thesis.

But, given the number of alien documentaries with “real” footage already in existence, both on DVD and on cable, I’m doubtful that this one would have much of an effect on the broader belief in aliens.

True, it isn’t stated exactly what the documentary is about, but we can infer that based on the facts that are out there. The documentary is by Stan Romanek. Looking him up, one can see that he has no claim to fame other than his alien experiences and some equations brought on by hypnosis. A documentary by this person that includes the Denver footage is likely to be about alien encounters.

John has just suggested that this would all be a great publicity stunt for the new X-Files movie. :)

Looks like someone outside holding up an alien head sculpture…

What’s the story behind this? Was it supposedly taken without the aliens’ knowledge? If so, how? They’re sposed to be able to control electronic devices. If not, why didn’t the alien pose in better lighting?

  6. I read that was a dramatization that aired on Larry King Live (and that does look like Larry King in the role of “alien”.

  9. It was certainly fun to see all the different spoofs that have already been created about this!

I hate to tell everyone this but aliens are real, in fact we are the only nation left in the U.N that has not publicly admitted to “something” strange flying around in the skys. Mexico has held press conferences asking the U.S to help them in the investigation into UFO phenom, maybe we should all just come to realize that we aren’t the most powerful or advanced species in the univefrse.

  11. I believe that aliens are out there somewhere, but I also believe that this particular alien tape is bogus. Believing that we’re not alone doesn’t mean we have to accept every sighting, every photo, and every tape.
