Presidential Geek Survey Diary – Day 320

Mike Huckabee proves that you can take the boy out of the presidential race, but you can’t take the foot out of his mouth.

While addressing the NRA yesterday, Huckabee’s speech was interrupted by a loud crash backstage.  Suddenly off his game, Huck joked:

“That was Barack Obama.  He Just tripped off a chair. He was getting ready to speak. Somebody aimed a gun at him and he…he dove for the floor.”

The present NRA members laughed at the first half of Huck’s quip, but even they got uncomfortable at the mention of pointing a gun at B-Rock.

Huck apologized for the remark five hours later (note the lack of whiny calls for apology on the part of the B-Rock campaign. Mitt Romney would have been a pouty baby within seconds).

Some are speculating that Huck’s really bad joke will cost him the VP nomination.  If so, that would be spectacularly hypocritical of the GOP, considering that George Bush and Undead Grampers McCain have said far more incoherent and inappropriate things.

Lisa Fary's earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She's angry that it's 2011 and she still doesn't have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.
