Even though those girls made the decision for similar reasons as Juno (ill-equipped to raise a child, with the added bonus of poverty), they were heavily guilt tripped about it. I'm glad it's on DVD already. However, a friend of mine who gave a child up for adoption a couple of years ago, hates the movie because of its "blazee" treatment of adoption. The fact that Juno has no qualms whatsoever about giving her baby up. My friend said that no birth mother she knows likes that movie, because it makes adoption look sooo easy, and without emotional consequence. Now, again, I haven't seen the movie. They closed the book nicely on the whole baby thing by having her admit that the baby was always Jennifer Garner's. Which was sweet, I thought. I hope Juno's sassiness inspires more film makers to make more teen characters like her. Take a break from movies on how hard it is to be a teen princess and/or pop diva.
