Presidential Geek Survey Diary – Day 317

This election is a mess.

Ron Paul’s supporters are planning a revolt to take place during the Republican National Convention.

McCain supporter Pastor Hagee has officially apologized to the world’s Catholics for calling their religion “The Great Whore”, but he still thinks New Orleans had it coming and can suck it.

Former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr has entered the presidential race and is seeking the Libertarian nomination.  You may remember Barr as the guy who spearheaded President Clinton’s impeachment.  Yes, the survey has been sent.

Hillary Clinton won West Virginia in a landslide last night, but B-Rock is the one who picked up superdelegates in the wake of that victory. Four as of this morning

The Clinton landslide wasn’t the only notable aspect of the WV primary. John Edwards managed to pull in 7% of the vote, despite having dropped out of the race four months ago.

WORD. This whole Democratic Party primary thing has been wearing on my nerves for too long! And how the heck are the rules such that two states now can’t vote at all! Now, I’m a B-Rock supporter, and with Florida and Michigan voting, that would give Hilary a leg up, certainly….but TWO STATES AREN’T VOTING?! How can that be allowed to happen? Because they didn’t hold their primaries on the right day?! What?!

I read that the primary situation in Florida was a dirty play on the part of the Republicans in the state legislature. It was part of House Bill 537, which was pushed through by those Republicans, and then signed into law by the FL governor, who is also a Republican. While the change may have been fine for the GOP, it was known to be a violation of the DNC’s rules. I think those FL Republicans should be held accountable and sued for obstructing democracy.
