Presidential Geek Survey Diary – Day 297

John McCain is all for pay equity for women. . . as long as we don’t, like, demand it.

Women should gratefully accept equal pay, if it’s given. And if it isn’t, we should suck it up and get education and training, so we’ll deserve to be paid the same as dudes performing the exact same job.

Silly women! It’s totally our fault when our employers choose to discriminate against us.

Undead Grampers is opposing the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which would make it easier to for women to sue for pay discrimination. The bill would open employers up to too many lawsuits, he says, and gives the federal government too large a role in private business affairs.

“[Women] need the education and training, particularly since more and more women are heads of their households, as much or more than anybody else,” Undead Grampers said.

Ummm. . . did he just call us stupid?

Oh, and should women still get the education and training if they’re returning military personnel? You know, because you didn’t support the new GI bill proposed by Senator Webb? The one that would have paid for full college tuition?

Pssst! That’s where people go to get education and training!
