After our weekly DVD fights, we had 41 movies to take to the PRGAAMWA 2008 Tournament. That wasn’t enough, so we set about filling in the remaining 25 slots. We brought back several movies that lost their matches this year because, you never know, Fantastic Four 2 might actually be better than something (like getting a splinter in your cornea). We also brought back a few frontrunners from PRGAAMWA 2007 for another shot at the title. And to fill it out, we threw in a couple movies we watched that didn’t find their way into the weekly DVD fights this year.
How did we pick the matches?
To pick our round one matches, we put the 64 titles in a shiny red fireman’s hat (FIRETRUCK!!!! ) for random seeding. The winners of round one will face off in round two and so on.
Who are the judges and how are they judging?
Lisa Fary will base her judgments on the appearances of exhibits from her TV & Film Boyfriend Petting Zoo (and Chest Hair Rehabilitation Program), divided by the acceleration rate of her jaw as it drops open and dribbles Dewar’s.
John Dallaire will judge the movies according to their merits: acting, directing, cinematography, and boobies, as well as their emotional impact and how often he has to refill Lisa’s glass and wipe her chin.
Brian “The Amateur Scientist” Thompson will be judging movies according to an amateur scientific formula involving the Rotten Tomatoes rating, astrological signs, the Bible Code, and a melon.

What is the prize?
The person whose picks are closest to the PRGAAMWA Elite Eight will win their choice of one of the following prizes: all of the Elite Eight DVDs (to be determined) OR a $150 Amazon gift certificate.
No, we’re not going to look at everyone’s entries and stack the deck against you to get out of sending a prize. We won’t look at your picks until the bracket is complete.
How does a movie watching fiend enter to win?
On our PRGAAMWA 2008 Tourney form, you’ll predict which movies will make the Elite Eight by selecting your top two from each of the four brackets. Seems like an easy task to select the best movies in each bracket, but keep in mind that the random seeding may pit the two best movies against each other in the first round.
Entry is free, but you will need a valid email address, which will remain private. Pink Raygun will not sell your information or use it to inundate you with junk mail like a presidential candidate (unless Lisa decides to run for public office, which isn’t bloody likely since the nation won’t accept her political party – The Pajama Party!).
Entries are limited to United States residents 18 years of age and older.
