Kyle XY: Lockdown

Kyle XY - The Complete First Season - DeclassifiedI have “The Right Stuff” by New Kids on the Block stuck in my head and have no idea how it got there. Haven’t heard it in years, except maybe on a VH1 special, but there it is. Just the chorus, over and over again.

This may be a psychiatric condition.

I blame Kyle XY.

It was all about the drama last night. Everyone was arguing or having an emotional heart to heart or, in Kyle’s case, having an in depth discussion with Adam Baylin, who was really a dream projection of Kyle’s own psyche.

And then I thought, “Kyle looks kinda like Jordan Knight. From a distance. In the rain. Does Jordan Knight even have a career anymore?”

Next thing I knew, I was tapping out Oh-oh-ohohoh oh-oh-ohoh oh-oh-ohohoh. . . the right stuff on the arm of the chair. Then the humming started.

I resisted doing
the dance. I used to knock things over trying to do that dance – I could never get my legs to go in the right directions.

Hmmmm. I have that same problem with walking. . .

Now, if Kyle XY had just moved the story forward instead of getting chatty and having the characters resolve their personal issues (which have no bearing on the main story), I could have maintained a healthy span of attention and would not be in my own private New Kids hell.

Can someone help me with this before it gets to “Hangin’ Tough”?

Lisa Fary's earliest influences are Princess Leia, Rainbow Bright, Astronaut Barbie, and her 6th grade teacher, Ms. Palmer. She's angry that it's 2011 and she still doesn't have a hovercraft, but will accept a jetpack as consolation. That jetpack had better be pink with a rhinestone monogram.
