Presidential Geek Survey Diary – Day 52

Last night, Barack Obama brought his dashing, GQ worthy, hip-hop love song inspiring good looks to The Daily Show with John Stewart, where he talked about good judgment.

“When people talk about experience, what they really want to know is, ‘Does he have good judgment?’” Obama said. “Everybody knows a lot of 50, 60 and 70 year-olds that don’t have good judgment, because they keep on making the same mistakes over and over again.”

Now, if this were Fox News, I’d take that quote and twist it into a headline like, “Obama Questions Mental Capacity of Elderly”, or the more eye grabbing, “OBAMA HATES YO’ MAMA!”

But, this isn’t Fox News, Barack.

This is Pink Raygun, where we practice equal opportunity coverage of candidates – from any party – who continue to ignore us and the Presidential Geek Survey.

Hmmmmm. Ignoring an entire potential voting block. Would that constitute good judgment?

Barack, don’t make me whip out that photo of you posing as Superman. . . .

Barack Obama Superman

. . . I did it anyway.

Is it because we don’t have a big enough audience? The Daily Show has a wide reach. Pink Raygun was linked to by the Time/CNN political blog, which had over 220,000 visits in the last 30 days. Is that a big enough audience?

Pink Raygun isn’t as big as The Daily Show, but there’s also less pressure with us. You don’t have to try to be funny with the Geek Survey. You don’t have to try to one-up your opponents. You just have to be yourself.
