Presidential Geek Survey Diary – Day 15

John McCainRather than respond to the Geek Survey, former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination. Gilmore said of his decision, “It takes years of preparation to put in place both the political and financial infrastructure to contest what now amounts to a one-day national primary in February.”

That may be true, but it won’t deter John McCain. Even more staffers have left McCain’s campaign for the presidency; however, the Arizona senator is continuing his push for the White House, insisting that the only thing that will take him out of the race is a fatal disease.

The campaign is now just John McCain driving around the country in an RV with two dogs, 12 goldfish and a ferret. No word yet on which dog will serve as McCain’s national security advisor if he is elected.

Someone from the Republican National Committee called my house today and asked, “Would YOU like Hillary Clinton as your next president?” I honestly answered that I did not. And when I said I wouldn’t like any of the Republican candidates as my next president either, I was told to have a “blessed day” and hung up on.
