As a fan of the Angel series, I was delighted by the "easter egg" Joss put in issue #1 of Buffy Season Eight...

I'm referring to when Buffy speaks of her "doubles" and explains one of them is in Italy supposedly dating a guy called "The Immortal". She adds that it was Andrew who came up with the idea after doing some research and said it would be "funny".

I loved the episode from Angel Season Five where Spike and Angel have an escapade in Europe chasing "The Immortal". It's hilarious to think about Andrew orchestrating the whole thing. It also explains the scene where Angel and Spike see "Buffy" on a nightclub dancefloor. I thought the hair looked especially fake and chocked it up to a bad wig job. Now I know it looked fake because its not the real Buffy!

Excellent work Joss!!!

You forgot to mention that in Issue #4 we learn who was the likely source of Buffy's true-love awakening kiss in Issue #3 -- it's Satsu! (Recall that Buffy awakens blurting "Cinnamon buns!" upon being kissed in Issue #3 and later is startled by the same flavor when she borrows Satsu's lip gloss in Issue #4.)

Regarding your comment that "Warren reveals that he and Amy were responsible for Kennedy's 'death'..." I read it differently. Taking note of Warren's subsequent comment about how "quickly" Willow and her "new girlfriend" had gotten together (apparently referring to how soon she began her relationship with Kennedy after the death of Tara), I see it as a reference to the Season Seven episode "The Killer in Me" (#7.13), in which Amy casts a "penance malediction" on Willow, and secondarily as a hat-tip to all the Willow/Tara 'shippers who were disconcerted by what they saw as far too short an interval between Willow losing Tara and taking up with Kennedy.

Keep in mind that (it seems) the society to which the General belongs appear to have appoitned themselves to speak for their own version of humanity. So I have my doubts about how widespread fear of the slayers is amongst humans, in power or not.
Then again, Joss would have been about 13 when the whole X-Men storyline of Congressional committees investigating mutants started and given Joss's politics, he probably believes all that "McCarthy's spirit never died" stuff. So this will probably be more real than I'll find palusible.
But heck it's the Buffyverse, who really cares about all that "politicoficial" stuff. My favorite heroes (minus my very favorite,a certain stuttering witch, and soem others I liked more than the ones who're left) are back. Shout it from the highest towers in Tarantia!
